It all began in a small kitchen fueled by a mother’s love where founder, Sue Kerber searched for something natural to relieve her son’s eczema. In early 2009, she turned her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for blending natural ingredients into what is today known as the Rad Soap Co.
From that point forward Sue and her family developed a unique and top secret proprietary process for creating their hand crafted batches of soap. The process includes suspending the soap in a glycerin state with botanicals and essential oils never being exposed to caustic sodas/lye therefore never altering the delicate state of those natural ingredients. To this day RAD's unique process of production has never been duplicated to their knowledge. RAD's products are crafted and ready for delivery within 24 hours thus delivering the freshest all-natural body care to our beloved consumers and wholesale partners.
A group of unexpected loyal customers got behind the family and their award winning products from day one with the power of a grassroots movement which took on a life of its own. Rad was also accepted/requested into the world of the highly prestigious, trending and selective Korean Beauty/Skin Care market when they became one of the first and only American family owned companies to sell their products in South Korea.
Today, The Rad Soap Co. is committed to being the consumers most trusted source for natural body care products. RAD Soap adheres to strict quality standards due to the founder’s belief “If my family won’t use it, then we won’t sell it”. We believe in products with a purpose.
MEET THE RAD TEAM
Hey Radsters, let me introduce myself. I am the Soap queen/creator/maker of Rad Soap! I started this company in 2009 in my kitchen in Cohoes, NY. The reason for this venture was to share products that I have made over the past 30 years with you! I began creating homemade products when my oldest son Zak was born with eczema. After many doctors appointments and failed prescriptions, I decided to turn to nature! After reading up on the subject, I came up with my own version of a lotion to test on him and low and behold I developed what is today known as Rad's Toke extreme line. After years of making several different creams for all sorts of ailments, I approached my family with an idea.
Sup, RADsters! I'm one of the Co-Founders of RAD! Being a founder of RAD I am always striving to make RAD bigger and better. I look for innovative ways to make your skin healthy and happy. My favorite soap/cream is the TOKE line. In the infancy ages of RAD this was the first line I helped develop. The hemp plant has been a part of my life since I was a young RADster. I grew up with eczema and hemp was the only thing that would relieve me of the terrible itchy/scaly skin. The TOKE line has a special place in my heart!
Hey Radsters, my name is Shawn. I am the Senior Product Architect meaning I forsee and help in the creation of products for all of you to enjoy. I'm constantly working to make things better than the day before. My favorite part of my job is being able to be myself and work with cool, down to earth co-workers.
I first met the RAD family while working landscaping and I now have been working for RAD for over 2 and a half years (with many more to come!). I am a very active person. I enjoy spending my free time snowboarding, boating, fishing and pretty much anything else outside. My favorite products are the Toke Bar and the Moonbeam Butter. I love the scents of Sandalwood/Vanilla and Black Currant because they're very easy on the nose.
Hey ya'll, I'm Patrice. I became enamored with RAD Soap back in 2011, asked for a part-time job and viola! I'm now the full-time Director of Special Projects. I not only love the products, but I adore my co-workers including management - they are family. I attempt to be "funny" on a daily basis, sometimes it works; sometimes I end up in HR. The good thing is, they put up with me here and love me for me. I love crafts, cooking and talking. My favorite soap is the Zoku Bar, a "free-spirited" scent reminiscent of Nag Champa. It makes me feel happy so that I can spread the #RadLove on a daily basis.
Hey RADSTERS, you guys rule! This is Dan. I am the Regional Sales Manager, Northeast. My mission here is to share our products with as many people as possible who are open to the power of nutrition to improve health and well being. I met the Rad Soap crew unexpectedly a few years ago while Christmas shopping with my sister. We were drawn to the owners’ warm personalities, fun-edgy marketing and eye catching and oversized bars of soap. As soon as the conversation turned to the use of hemp seed oil and extractions of mushrooms in their products, I was hooked. I went home and began to research Chaga, the world of medicinal mushrooms and the history of hemp in this country. It kept me up for literally three days. I will never forget the overwhelming sense of feeling that I just had to be a part of what Rad was doing. My life has not been the same since that day.
When I am not in the stores doing demos, educating our partners or seeking out new opportunities to share the RAD Love, I am a foodie at heart and love to re-create food inspired by the year I spent abroad in Spain – still working on perfecting the simplicity of the Spanish tortilla and the complexity of the Paella. Happy to say I have mastered my own version of Spanish potato salad known as Ensaladilla Rusa. I challenge any RADSTER to a throw down. I am obsessed with learning about all the ingredients we use in our products and believe it or not, I spend my evenings surfing the net hoping to find the next big thing not found in today’s natural body care products. I am inspired by the endless possibilities provided by Mother Nature and the indigenous populations of the world.
My hero is Mike Adams, the founder of Natural News, a science-based natural health advocacy website that empowers the public with the truth. That guy is fearless! My favorite bar soap is Kryptonite however Moon Rock is a close second. My favorite cream is our Man Up butter because I’m obsessed with the scent and as someone who suffered from Lyme, I’m most grateful for our natural tick & bug repellent. I love waking up every day and being a part of this Rad journey…!
Hi there, guys! I'm Sammi and I am the VP of Marketing and Design at RAD. I'm sort of the jack-of-all-trades kind of gal here. I manage our social media, blog, packaging design, some photography and some customer service. I also work on new product development, I'm an active trend analyzer and I'm currently working on giving RAD's brand/labels a fresh new face lift.
I have an unhealthy obsession with English Bulldogs, Game of Thrones & collecting different variations of tea. I LOVE exploring food of all kinds and hopping around a new city every chance I get. And I would have to say music has been my biggest influencer on all that I am or create (thanks Mom & Dad).
My favorite bar is American Beauty because I love rose anything and I can't say enough about the Death Wish line. The scent is life changing and don't even get me started on the way it transforms your skin (see ya cellulite!). In my free time you can find me tending to my always growing collection of plants, whipping up the newest twist on gourmet food/drinks or working on my beauty/fashion/decor blog TheBohemianBulldog.com!
Hiya RADsters! I’m Kyle, a Production Architect here at RAD, which means I help hand craft all of our amazing body care products! I’ve always suffered from sensitive skin and fell in love with Rad’s products since the first time I used them. I can’t live without a bar of Moon Rock in my tub, the Black Currant and detoxifying activated charcoal in the soap leaves my skin feeling rejuvenated. I also adore the Toke Xtreme cream, cant live without it.
Outside of the factory, I love to watch and participate in sports such as Baseball, Football, and Hockey. I’m a diehard fan of the Yankees, Knicks, Broncos, and the NY Rangers. I also enjoy skiing, fishing, and hunting in my free time.
RAD provides an excellent work environment conducive to engineering the finest goods as well as a lot of laughs. I love my RAD family; everyone comes to work with an even keel, a light-hearted nature, and a positive attitude. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching this family-owned company grow in just the few months I’ve been here. I’m proud to say that our products have reached far and wide and are even sold in South Korea, a country that happens to be half of my heritage.
